Bellmouth Pipes

What Are Bellmouth Pipes and Which Sizes Are Made?

Bellmouth pipes are U-PVC clean water pressure pipes with one widened, bell-shaped socket end, so they push into each other without adhesive. Düzgünler Plastik makes them in 17 sizes from Ø32 to Ø400, in PN 4, 6, 10 and 16 pressure classes, in grey.

This uPVC pressure pipe type is chosen for drinking water, infrastructure and irrigation lines where fast installation matters.

How Do Bellmouth Pipes Connect?

Short answer: the plain end of one pipe is pushed into the socket of the next. No adhesive and no curing time, so the line goes in fast.

  • 1. Clean: No dust or sand on the pipe end or inside the socket.

  • 2. Align: Keep both pipes on the same axis.

  • 3. Push: Slide the plain end squarely into the socket.

What Are the Sizes and Wall Thicknesses?

The wall thicknesses below come from the official product table. Pipe length runs from 609 to 622 cm depending on size, so about 6 meters.

Is Every Pressure Class Made in Every Size?

No. Ø32 is made only as PN10 PVC pipe and PN16 PVC pipe. PN 4 is available from Ø50 to Ø280; at Ø315 and above, the lowest class is PN 6.

Wall thickness grows with the pressure class. Never choose a class below the line's working pressure.

Bellmouth or Solvent Weld PVC Pipe?

  • Pro of bellmouth: No adhesive; fast installation and less labor.

  • Con of bellmouth: The pipe end and socket must be clean and well aligned.

  • Pro of solvent weld: Pipes bond permanently with PVC adhesive.

  • Con of solvent weld: You wait for curing, and the joint cannot be taken apart.

Where Are They Used?

  • Drinking water lines (potable water pipe)

  • Infrastructure projects and buried water lines

  • Agricultural irrigation systems

  • Water lines in industrial plants
